Ingredients

  • water, for steaming (3 cups)
  • strawberries, stems removed, halved (5 cups)
  • granulated sugar (1/4 cup)
  • lemon juice (3 tablespoons)
  • all-purpose flour (2 tablespoons)
  • kosher salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • all-purpose flour (1 1/2 cups)
  • granulated sugar (3 tablespoons)
  • baking soda (1/4 teaspoon)
  • baking powder (1 1/2 teaspoons)
  • kosher salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • cold or frozen unsalted butter, divided (6 tablespoons + 1 tablespoon)
  • buttermilk (1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons)
  • raw sugar (3 tablespoons)
  • Whipped cream
  • Strawberries

Instructions

Step 1
1. Add 3 cups water to the pot. Place all strawberry filling ingredients in the Ninja Multi-Purpose Pan (or 8-inch round baking pan) and mix until fully combined.

Step 2
2. To make the biscuit topping, in a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3
3. Grate 6 tablespoons of cold butter into the dry ingredients. Slowly mix in the buttermilk until a dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, add more buttermilk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until a thick and somewhat moist dough forms.

Step 4
4. Dollop the biscuit topping over the strawberry filling in the pan. Grate the remaining 1 tablespoon butter over the biscuit topping, then top with raw sugar.

Step 5
5. Place the pan on the bottom layer of the Deluxe Reversible Rack in the lower position, then place the rack in the pot.

Step 6
6. Close the lid and move the slider to STEAMCRISP. Select STEAM & BAKE, set temperature to 350 °F, and set time to 12 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin cooking (PrE will display for approx. 20 minutes as the unit steams, then the timer will start counting down).

Step 7
7. When cooking is complete, the biscuits will be golden brown and puffed and the filling should be bubbling. Remove the rack with the pan and allow to cool for about 20 minutes. Serve scoops of the strawberry shortcake cobbler topped with fresh whipped cream and strawberries
